As citizens of Tampa Bay, the ultimate responsibility for our domestic security does not rest in Washington or Tallahassee, but at the local level...here in Tampa Bay.
Our success in defeating today's threats of crime and terrorism is not just the responsibility of police and politicians. Every citizen, regardless of career or circumstance, plays an important role in protecting the community.
To support our local effort of creating a safer community, SafeTampaBay.org was established to serve as a comprehensive source for information and advice on critical issues of crime and domestic security.
Our mission is fourfold:
1. To provide accurate information on local threats of crime and terrorist activity;
2. To present tactics and strategies for reducing risks from crime and terrorism;
3. To identify local resources to assist in crime prevention and anti-terrorism planning;
4. To provide a centralized location for sharing information about local crime prevention and homeland security initiatives.
We encourage you to explore our site and learn what you can do to make Tampa Bay a safer place to live. If you have questions about local public safety issues, or if you wish to share information with others, post a message on our message boards.
Remember, the greatest weapon in the war on crime and terrorism is knowledge!

NEW! Online Training Available for Hazardous Mailings
Postal bombs, contaminated mailings such as the anthrax mailings, and even postal devices designed to activate firearms ammunition have all been used to target VIPs, employees, and even ordinary citizens. To mitigate this threat, all organizations at risk should have a protocol for intercepting and safely responding to hazardous mail situations. In this two-hour presentation, Craig Gundry explores the risks of hazardous mailings and appropriate countermeasures for mail-related threats.
